Today, we loaded up two 26 foot moving trucks. One is going to storage and the other to a two bedroom condo in the city. We are saying good bye to our mid century modern home and renting for a year while we find our next dream home in Philadelphia.
This house, a 1958 creation by a young architect named Irwin Stein, has been our home for the past five years. Living there changed my life in more ways that I ever thought possible. The most obvious, was that it lead me to begin At Home Modern.
Am I sad? Only a tiny bit. I mostly feel joy for having had the privledge to live in such an amazing space. I worked hard to create a legacy for this home and its architect (see "Press") and that makes me feel terrific. I love the new owners and they are very dedicated to preserving this treasure.
And now I get to live in the city again! YAY! With no yardwork! YAY! Our new pad is pretty swank. You'll see it soon.
